RNR i don't know that i feel Hey Ho is very strong as a single. But i unlike almost everyone else also don't think that Put That Record On will do well in cross over. But that's coming from a younger generation that doesn't really know the songs they are referring too and stuff. Its a really good album song, but i don't know that it would do well on radio. I really think, for me, What Ya, The Life, and Red Tail Lights are good choices, The Life being the best bet. As for their like, Harder rock songs, i don't know which one i think would be a good single. I really think 2 Sides is a good choice, and maybe Waking up the Devil.

the tradition of releasing rock song as a first single only done bad to tham... lips of an angel did better than get stone and without you did better use me... ofcourse The Life will do better than all amircan nightmare....
Thinking that Lips of an angel as a first single could have made this hit even more succssesful

Okay Tal.. I'm taking it that you're a ballad kinda person, right? Dude, all of their songs has been successful.. Lips was great but you gotta get past it.. They have. You can't compare every song they do to Lips. Hinder is more than a ballad band they write damn good and amazing rock songs too.

Someone who was around back then might need to correct me, but I'm pretty sure the only reason lips got released at all is because of this forum and the people on it at the time voting for it as the second single. I'll see if pinkie can come on cause I think she might be the only one from then still here.

rocknroll its not like about the balleds... i know most of the forum here prefer heavy rock over alternative... but as a new listener to music ofcourse i will prefer alternative... and soft rock and its gonna stay this way "more than a balland band" whats worng with writing ballads? whats makes rock songs better?
also Rex i dont think thay choose lips of an angel only because some kind of a forum vote... thay have managers and recording compeny that take part with such decisions.
Also there are many heavy rock / metal bands out there ... hinder isnt that kind of band... if you like heavy rock hinder is not the best choice

Hey man, I wasn't dogging you.. you prefer what you prefer. i'm just saying don't hold them to one song. And as for what you said to RexRox.. Yes Hinder is a damn good choice for rock music and hard rock. Sorry that you think they aren't.

Sorry that you think they aren't. thayre called gays for extreme behavior and take it to the limit since its soft rock... you can say the last album is fit to heavy rock listeners

They're called what? If I recall Extreme Behavior had a hard rock feel to it.. Take It To The Limit was more of Glam Rock. AAN is Hard Rock. AAN to me suits them and i'm not saying their past work didn't because it was great but AAN is killer. Also if I recall Cody said with AAN they wanted to take it back to how they were when they first started.. So I think this album is what Hinder is all about.

i know most of the forum here prefer heavy rock over alternative... ^^THAT is a generalization that I don't think applies across the board to the members here. I think everyone here has a broad range of musical taste that includes more than one type of musical style. but as a new listener to music ofcourse i will prefer alternative... To quote some familiar lyrics..."like what ya like, it don't matter to me" whats worng with writing ballads? whats makes rock songs better? Nothing and nothing. It's all personal preference. We're lucky that Hinder does both well, thereby giving their fans the best of both worlds in one mix. also Rex i dont think thay choose lips of an angel only because some kind of a forum vote... thay have managers and recording compeny that take part with such decisions. I can't say definitively that "Lips" was chosen because of this forum/fan vote, but I can give you some insight. It is a widely known fact and well documented story that Hinder's A&R guy (the guy at the label that chooses singles) didn't want "Lips" released as a single. In fact, he didn't even want the song on the album. The band made it very well known to the label that "Lips" was going to be included on "EB" (I will have to watch a video I have for an exact quote if you require proof.) As for choosing songs and what gets released...the band does have some say as well. The song "Running In The Rain" was due to be included on "Extreme Behavior," it was cut at the last moment (hence there being track listings on the net that show the song as being on the disc, even though it was pulled). After much discussion, fan requests, comments and direct conversations, the band had "Running In The Rain" added to the bonus tracks for "Limit." ETA 2: Cody has said, in interviews, that the fans asking for that track had a direct impact on them releasing it. He makes no bones about that issue. I would be surprised if some of the 70+ songs written for AAN don't come out at some point. Especially if they add one to their live set, it makes a big impact and we ask for it. Also there are many heavy rock / metal bands out there ... hinder isnt that kind of band... if you like heavy rock hinder is not the best choice In America, Hinder tends to fall into what we call a "Hard Rock" category. I have no idea about the rest of the world, but here, if you want "heavy" rock you listen to Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, etc. That's "Heavy Metal" here and no Hinder doesn't fall into that category. But I fail to see what your point is in making that statement. I'm fairly certain that Hinder's fans aren't as concerned about "what label" their music is given, so long as they enjoy playing it and we enjoy listening to it. As for your other post about them being called "gay" for their first 2 albums, I know some people around the country that are jealous of their success and I'm certain they use stronger words than that, but you have to consider the sources. ETA: You know I wonder, if you prefer "alternative music" why is it, that you are here? No disrespect meant, but really....you only seem to care for one song and one type of Hinder's songs. You're allowed to do that, but you've got to remember when you make some of the statements you've made, you are going to be put on the spot by the fans that are here.

I say, if you're thinking it, say it. Chances are there's at least a handful of us thinking the same thing and we'd back you on it.

I figured lol. I just can't stand it when people just wanna talk about Lips.. All I think when people constantly hold them to that song is damn go by their music and listen to all their songs.. Yeah, Lips was huge to me and I loved it but I love every song they have made too.
