I came across this new band this past Tuesday in Toledo when they opened for The Veer Union. I know that they played at ROTR this year, but I missed them there. I've been listening to their cd since Tuesday night and I'm really looking forward to seeing them again at The Machine Shop on June 11th when they open for Drowning Pool. I generally don't accept favors from bands, but they are putting me on their guest list for the show so it should be a good night. I'm giving up both Sore Eyes and Pop Evil to go see them.

They're playing a free show up here sometime...I can't remember when. It's an 18 and older show, at a grand opening for some club, I think.

Not sure from your location where you are in Michigan, but I know they have a show up in the Sagin or Bay City area on Friday, June 4th and then again in Flint on the 11th. Flint is definitely not a free show with Drowing Pool as the headliner. The June 4th show might be. I think that's at The Vault.
Just checked.........free show is Friday at The Vault, but it says 21 and up!

Ahh, OK. I don't know much about it, other than what little I've heard about it on the radio. But, that sounds right. I know it's in Bay City, and thats about it! lol

Oddly enough this band was suggested to me a couple of weeks ago by a rev theory fan. I listened to one or two songs but was busy with something else and didn't pay close attention. I'll have to give them another listen I think

They've been playing the song Chemical Infatuation on the radio up here pretty heavily. It's pretty good, but I haven't really checked out any of their other stuff yet.
I did listen to My Darkest Days song Pornstar Dancing the other day, and that was really good. lol

I listened to the whole cd for probably 4 days straight - couldn't get enough of it. Favorite songs so far are Galaxy (Rest in Peace), Enemy and Lie to Me. I'm wondering at their young age, where the inspiration for the song Galaxy came from. That will definitely be on the agenda for Friday's show. Check out those songs and let me know what you think.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think that might be why I didn't pay closer attention. When I ask which songs to listen to, she said all of them and I didn't have time for that

Got to the venue way too early! There were 2 warm up bands before LAS was scheduled to take the stage so we decided to go grab some dinner and catch part of the hockey game in an effort to kill some time. Got back to the venue in time for the last support act. All I could do was just stand there and endure it.
We moved up to the stage and stood stage right so that we were between Matt and Chris and had a good view of Thomas. Kent only came down to our end a couple times. It was very warm inside there so that would be a mor complaint and the other would be the fog machine. I'm cool with it being on to welcome the band onto the stage and off the stage but don't feel it serves any purpose other than to piss off the people that want to take decent pictures when they have it going during the set. Too many pics have the fog and I'm not happy with them.
Was able to grab a couple vids, including Galaxy. I had a chance to talk to the boys at the merch table after the show. Made sure we were close to the last in line so we didn't have to leave until they were done talking to us. The line was Chris, Matt, Thomas and Kent. Didn't really talk to Chris or Thomas at the Toledo show so I wasn't really sure they would remember me. Thomas didn't and wanted to know why we didn't talk in Toledo and it was just that he had been busy talking to others when the bar closed up. Chris remembered me but didn't know from where so partial recognition is fine with me. I did have a chance to ask where Galaxy came from. Chris, Kent and Matt are brothers and before they came over to Vancouver to record the cd, their grandmother had been very ill so they were thankful that they were able to spend some time with her. She died shortly after while they were recording and they were not able to leave and go back to New Zealand for her funeral. They sent back Galaxy to be played at her service as their tribute to her because they couldn't attend. I tear up when I hear that song and now knowing the meaning behind the song, it's understandable why. Also understandable why that song isn't a normal fixture on their setlist and why they have real emotion when it is performed.
They've got me and a friend on their guest list for the upcoming Drowning Pool show this week at The Machine Shop so that will give me something to look forward to.

They definitely did not disappoint the other night at The Machine Shop although I thought they could have or should have played longer. I was heading up to the cottage the following morning and I had only had 1 hour of sleep the night before so I didn't stay that long after the show. I do know they went and hung out with Drowning Pool and were feeling the effects the following day. They are on their way back to Vancouver right now for some shows over in Canada. I'm thinking they will head back to New Zealand for a little break before coming back for a summer / fall tour.

Feels really weird adding a comment after Angie!!
S them this past weekend up in Bay City. Good and bad news.....bad news is that not many people were there and the good news is not many people were there. Got to spend a lot of time with each of them and it was good talking about personal things not music related. Made me love them more. Did have to break the news to them about Angie and they were all shocked. I wasn't drinking that night so Matt promised our next show we would do a shot of Patron for her!
