Some of you may have heard of this, but here is a list published by Billboard of the top One Hit Wonders of the 2000s. These acts reached the Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 on their very first single but none of these acts managed to crack the Top 25 for the rest of the decade. Why they pick the top 25 is pretty stupid. They should make it top 50 or something like that. Cut the artists some slack. Just shows the music industry overplays a new artist then spits them out. A lot of these acts you don't even hear on radio today at all. Not like the one-hit wonders of the 80s which you can hear just about every day. This will make a good VH1 special. www.billboard.com/#/features/one-hit-wonders-of-the-2000s-page-1-1004051216.story

Disappointed to read that Hinder was #31 on the one hit wonder list. We don't have a full rock station here so in this state, it's already biased. Our "rock/alternative" station is more like a pop/soft rock station, so Lips is about the heaviest they will play from any rock band. We don't get satellite radio out here either. I'm sure other places are just like this. If there was better exposure,I think they surely would have done alot better.
Anyhow, "one hit wonder" or not, Hinder is still one of my favorites!

I never thought of Hinder as one-hit wonders. Better Than Me, Get Stoned, Use Me and Without You also hit Top 40 on pop and rock stations not as high as Lips but still good. Hinder is busy making albums and touring where a lot of these acts you never hear of nowadays.
Billboard has some pretty stupid criteria for classifying a one-hit wonder.

Billboard has some pretty stupid criteria for classifying a one-hit wonder. I agree to that! I would like to know what their criteria is. Especially in this era where album sales and charts don't have much say in how sucessful a band is anymore, due to illegal and legal downloading. I was surprised to read that lots of other bands on that list were considered "1 hit wonders" while other bands I thought were for sure 1 hit wonders didnt make it on the list.

hahahaha LOAA has one thing over its competition, the one thing none of those other artists or labels can say for their "one hit wonder" songs... "The track, which has already set the record for most ringtone downloads sold in a single week by a Universal rock act, was recently certified 3x Platinum by the RIAA – surpassing AC/DC's "Back in Black" to make it the largest selling rock ringtone of all time. "Lips of an Angel" reached the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 Pop Singles Chart, Top 5 on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks Chart and #1 on the iTunes Canada Singles chart. Not too damn shabby IMO...guess not everyone can "suck" like that!

I s this a couple wks ago, didn't think it deserved attention so I did not mention it here and give haters more ammo to use..but since it's been mentioned...I guess my thing about it is, most of those other bands/singers ..their one hits were from the early 00's...it's safe to say those bands will never have hits again...Hinder still actively tours, even some shows selling out in the bad economy era... and are working on new material...I think they counted them out too soon, I understand that list is for the previous decade, but still...I hated seeing them be labeled with that.
Edit: and I also do not agree that their other singles were not hits, I like how Use me being a #3 rock song was conveniently not mentioned..Obviously Billboards only count #1's, but anyways I still think it too soon to say they will never have another #1...

Owell guess everyone is entitled to their opinions but my idea of a one hit wonder is a group that comes out with one song, and then has NO other songs on the charts at all....EVER....and then disappears, not one that has had multiple songs on the charts, multiple albums...but thats my opinion....

I totally agree with how stupid it is to put this label on a currently touring band like Hinder who are still making albums and selling shows and merch like crazy. In my opinion, there are a LOT of Hinders songs that deserve wayyyyy more attention and accolades than they have been given. I love them and don't give a rip what some out of touch executive or whoever makes up those lists thinks. Rock on guys.....we all love you!!!
