Just something that's been brought to my attention - please search before you post a new thread about a band .. just to kind of keep things clean and prevent 6 threads about one band.
Now I will say if its a HUGE announcement about a band - New album being announced, etc. then I think a new thread is cool.
Just kinda keep the gossip, new tour dates, etc. to one thread.
I'm not gonna be a HUGE stickler about this, just kinda putting the bug in everyones ear. Cool?

I don't think it's a "problem", per se. There are a lot of duplicate threads in this section. I tend to be very anal and I merely suggested that you take 30 seconds and do a search to make certain that a thread hadn't already been started for the group you wanted to comment about. Pesonally if I want to take a look at a thread on a group, I'd like to look at one thread, not five threads. Huey's suggesting that if it is newsworthy item about a band, it appears to be okay to start a new thread, otherwise see if a thread already exists. You lose a lot of history on what may have already been posted if everyone just starts a new thread anytime they want to make a comment on a band.

Im guilty of this,I did it once with the Papa Roach thread and got called out on it, and I even did my research,I looked at like 10 pages and found nothing so I started a new thread, It died off but I definetly learned.

Before I start a new thread, I change the defaults that pop up on the search and do the last 700 days and 100 posts and that pretty much captures anything that might be out there and still valid.

I most likely do it a lot... but I'll try not to so much now... sorry if it annoys some? doesn't really bother me ... anyhow...
before I came here I mostly dealt with chat rooms, blogs or MySpace bulletins and was used to just posting a comment and such when I found something interesting without thought...
the ONLY time I used message boards was when I purchased one of those softwares where the support they had was a M.B. lol! [which is rare]
though I'm not a complete "newb" to the net [had it for nearly 9 yrs now...] I'm kinda new to M.B.s...
I'm sure after a while I'll get the hang of it?
Peace & take care!

Yeah. Don't just go through the pages. Go to the top of the page and search! It will make things much easier!

You could create a post about all the band threads and their links and keep it as the top post. I'd title it "Artists List" LOL just a suggestion as some other forums I go to do that.
