Might be able to drag my pop's up there! thats where he's from so he'd be more willing to go up there than to like sagin or flint or someplace. Even though that's like 2 or more hours ay,and sagin and flint are only like 30 - 45 mins......

It's official - I decided to do the VIP at The Machine Shop. I think I was #22 sold so far so I don't think they are going to get anywhere close to 100 signing up in these economic conditions in our state. Unfortunate part is that we have to be at the venue by 2:00 to check in so I'm going to have to take 1/2 day off work. BETTER BE WORTH IT!!

Just checked to see how many have been sold and for The Machine Shop, I was #22 yesterday and that hasn't changed. For the Fillmore on Sunday, that stands at 26 sold as of today.

I might as well throw something out here for them. Anna and I were at their show at The Machine Shop yesterday. I had chatted once before with Jacoby thru a fence at ROTR back in 2007 but that's about it. Anna and I both opted to do the VIP package, a little pricey but I figured I could do it once and be good.
I worked all night the day before so I could leave at noon to get out there for a 2:00 check in time. Arrived at 1:30 only to find out that the buses hadn't even arrived yet. Anna and 2 of her friends went to line up at the door. I had a couple friends meeting me there so I let them line up with Anna and her friends so they could get acquainted and not be strangers while we went in for the VIP.
Bus rolls in just after 2:00 and they are 4 hours late. PR's guy comes over and explains that they got caught in traffic after a fatal accident on the freeway, but then also tossed out a couple other excuses so I don't know that any of them were valid. He said that the VIP wouldn't start until 4:30 at the earliest so if we wanted to go and wait somewhere else besides the concrete, we were more than welcome to. The girls weren't going anywhere because they wanted a fighting chance at getting chain. It seems we all kinda took turns going and grabbing something to eat and coming back to the line.
Time rolls around for us to check in for the VIP. Names on a list, got laminates and a poster to sign and told to hang tight for a few minutes. The dj's from The Banana come out and apparently their M&G winners didn't show so they did a little minature scavenger hunt and the winners and one guest were going to be allowed to take the spot of those that didn't show up. The first item was a green lighter and one of Anna's friends knew there were some lighters in her car so she ran and got one and brought it back - Winner!!!! The second item was a quarter between the years 1984 and 1987 and my friend Heather, who only had 1 quarter in her pocket looked and it was 1987 - Winner!!!! The 3rd item was an unusual looking key - the guy that came with Heather had one but was just a few seconds slower than another guy in line so he got stuck standing in line while all of us went in for the VIP.
They had the PR VIP's go first...........no pictures, but they took you up one at a time to meet the guys, talk to them, get signatures and then they took the picture with you and the band. We then went to a different waiting area to hang out until it was time for the sound check. I decided to spend my time on the phone with X (X and Sally) because he knows them and wanted to tell them he was coming out to the show but not Sally. I was given the horrible task of giving Jacoby a hug for Sally because she wasn't going to be there. He asked why and when I said that she didn't want him to get sick of seeing her, he said that was a ridiculous excuse and she needed to get her ass here. X was talking to Tobin so Jacoby told him to tell X he'd better see both of them at the show. I went thru and gave all the guys hugs and did my picture, not that I really wanted to, but I did it anyway.
Took a while for everyone to go thru the line, but once that was done, it was time for soundcheck. They said that we could take pictures so most of us did pics and videos. They played 3 or 4 songs, trying to do songs that were not going to be on the set list. One of my favorites off Metamorphesis is Live This Down. He threw that title out there along with something else and the next thing I knew, I'm yelling yeah, yeah, yeah for my song. Jacoby looks over and said what she said....let's do this shit! My video portion turned out good, but the audio is a little whacked so I'll probably just keep it for myself and hope they add it to the set list for Sunday's show.
Didn't really have any interraction with them after soundcheck, they escorted us outside to start lining up so they could have their preshow meal. It was a clusterf**k outside cuz you had radio m&g people trying to line up and get in before the PR VIP people and other people that had showed up while we were inside. I knew we were supposed to get in with early entry so I tried not to worry about it too much. Their guy came over and said for all the PR VIP's to line up and they eventually let us in. Not real happy with where I wound up, still got chain but it was far stage right, by the speakers. Ordered Anna and I a jagerbomb for her birthday drink and then just had to stand around and wait, but I knew it would be worth it.
The Last Vegas came out first and I've seen them before at Cruefest and then down at Piere's with my M212 boys. Not overly impressed with them but figured it wouldn't hurt to take some pictures and it would make the time go by faster.
Aranda came out next and I really enjoyed them and to me, they were a kinda throwback to the Beatles and some early rock and roll groups. They were also easy on the eyes so taking pictures of them wasn't going to be a problem. I thought we had to stand thru Jet before we could see the real entertainment but I was wrong. Jet wasn't part of this particular show so PR was next.
They put on a great show and Jacoby's energy level never ceases to amaze me. Maybe it was that 35 minute jog around Flint that did the trick?? Did a number of songs from Metamorphesis along with some oldies like Dead Cell, Getting ay with Murder and of course the Scars, Forever, Time is Running Out and ended their encore with Last Resort. Sometime during their set, they acknowledged X and Sally and congratulated them on 14 years of marriage so that was pretty cool. Handed out lots of guitar pics, set lists and a few drumsticks - I think I got 2 of Jerry's pics and I was happy with that. Was trying to get a set list for X and Sally as a little remembrance, that didn't work out too well, but it was the thought that counted. It took quite a while for them to come out into the venue. I think there were a lot of people still there and they waited until it had gone down some. Us diehards weren't leaving. Jacoby was in rare form and actually allowed some girl to pick him up, put him over her head like a WWE move and twirl him around. Tried to get a picture of that but was a little slow with the point and shoot! I left around 2:15 or so - never s Jerry after the set, Jacoby had gone to the bus and Tony and Tobin were still inside. If anything else happened after that, Anna will have to tell us.
I went up to buy an Aranda cd and talk to Brittney to catch up with what's going on now that she's back in Michigan. Klare and Brad followed me up there and somehow, even though I was the one that bought their merch, they wound up on Aranda's guest list for Sunday's show at The Fillmore down in Detroit. Not quite sure how that happened and I'm not really happy about it, but hopefully their access will be limited to a free balcony seat!!! She had to write their names on a piece of paper and gave it to one of the band members. I guess if I wanted to be really mean, I could hope that when he sobers up, he doesn't remember offering that up and there's nothing waiting for them when they arrive. I know, that's bad and I really should be happy for them but I just can't do it.
I've gotten 4 hours of sleep in 2 nights so I'm going to go home and try to work on pictures for a little while.

Just a really quick update to the previous post........I was correct!! Aranda had nothing set up for Klare for the guest list. Anna and I were standing in line for early entry and I s the guys floating around the merch table. I called one of them over and asked about it and they said they didn't get a guest list option for this venue. I told them they promised someone Thursday night and she should be here soon. They were actually going to buy her and her friend a ticket but they must have worked something out. Regardless, she owes me again or she would have been stuck outside and not able to get in unless she sprung for a ticket!
This soundcheck was even better and they played my request. They were going to do Broken Home and I yelled out Reckless. Jacoby said it had been a long time since they had played that one, he didn't know if he would remember the words or not. He said if I forget, I'm sure you'll help me out! I recorded that one also but I'm going to have my brother try and clean up the audio this weekend.
Had a great time at the show, even though I was sitting by myself. From the size of the mosh pit, I'm glad I had a seat. I brought the boys cookies, which they started eating while I was talking to them after Miss Nervous Nelly (Anna) was done. I was also lucky enough to hang out with them after the show too.
Decided I'm making the 4+ hour drive down to Kentucky to see them and Shinedown on December 5th!! Not sure I'm going to do the VIP thing again - kinda stalkerish until they get to know me better!!!

I just s them twice last week...have the withdrals going like crazy! Hoping to see them again with Shinedown next month. And super cute story for anyone who is on Twitter. Jerry has an account on there and I tweeted the day after the show that I had a bangover, which means pain from headbanging after a show. LOL. And he replied to me and said sorry I was over the moon, like a little schoolgirl, ha ha.
